Better Font Effect Choices For Stationery Printing

Do you ever add texts as a design element for stationery printing

? Well if you do, then you might want to learn about the best font effects that you can use in stationery printing. Be it a business stationery or personal one, adding font effects is a great way to improve the overall design of your custom stationery. In my experience, there are just four simple ways to improve them.

Making words look thicker Most text for color stationeries usually seem thin. This is because lots of people are favoring simpler and thinner fonts today. However if you want to really emphasize certain words and text, then changing the typeface to bold should be your first step. Bold type fonts are of course usually more distinct and when you use this effect on the letterhead of your stationery it should really catch most people's eyes. Take note though that sometimes, the bold indications are not called bold anymore, and are now called the strong effect instead. Most design software like Photoshop will mark boldness as strong so make sure you try that effect out first before actually enlarging your text.

Making words look uplifted Now, if you want a more subtle but complicated effect, then you might want to make your words look uplifted through the use of shadows. Shadows are great for stationery printing since it is an effect that is not too loud. Shadows are just small dark areas marking some or all of the outlines in your text depending on the virtual light angle. Adding shadows makes words look more real as it seems to be lifted up a small way. Use this for the headers and footers of your stationery design.

Making words glow For a louder and more engaging design though, you might want to make your stationery words glow. Glowing effects can be quite the eye catcher since you get the impression that the light is coming towards you. Digitally this is done usually through a simple blending option effect with the layer. If you want a more physical effect though, then you can ask your stationery printing service if they can print part of your text in metallic glowing inks for extra charges.

Adding fillers to fonts Another great effect that I use are fillers for the fonts. Fillers can be as simple as a color, as beautiful as a color gradient or as messy as certain textures. Adding these kinds of fillers to stationeries are a great way to make your text come alive. They can be made to look like something else, or they can themselves have different vibrant colors that can attract or impress people reading the stationery. It takes some time to get the right effect that you want, so don't worry and try to play with your font fillers first. So if you want a little bit more creativity, try using different fill techniques.
