Custom Invitations Versus Template Invitations

In invitation printing for business or personal events

, do you use template invitations or do you avail of custom invitation printing? This choice of whether to go standard or go custom is a very old and common question. Custom invitation printing is of course more personal and creative, while using templates for invitations are usually faster, cheaper and more convenient.

To help you decide on this problem, here are the reasons for and against both design philosophies. Hopefully this helps you on your decision on what to do.

Custom Invitations: The good

The best thing about custom invitations is of course the design. You can be as creative as you want with the layout and the messages that are going to be print. You can adopt your own custom theme and make it as memorable as it can be for the people attending. This is actually best for special social events like weddings, debuts and other such occasions. However, some business conventions and events also use custom invitations.

Custom Invitations: The bad

There are several disadvantages when printing custom invitations. For one, custom invitations of course are more expensive then template based kinds. Customization of course costs more since there is a lot more work to be done. If you are on a budget as it is with your event, this can break the bank. So do custom invitations only if you think you really need it and can afford it as well.

Template Invitations: The good

The good thing about template based invitation printing is the ease in production. Templates make designing and printing invitations quite easy. After giving the content that you want, the invitation printing service takes care of the rest. You will get invitations that looks exactly like the sample printing only with your custom content. No worries and no problems in the design.

Template Invitations: the bad

The only bad thing about template based invitations is that other events might have used that same template before. So you will not be as unique or original as you want with your color invitations. This might be fine for mundane conferences and events, but for major personal occasions or ground breaking business conferences this might not do too well.

Deciding which is best

So what is the best thing to use you may ask? Well, that is actually entirely dependent on your real objectives. For my part though I recommend custom invitation printing for special social events and template based invitation designs on simple business functions. Most people will want to remember social events so it is best to be original, while business events only require functional invitations since most decide on the content of the business even rather than the occasion itself. Of course, this is just my opinion and your priorities might be different.

So all in all decide for yourself what is best. At least the reasons above should give you the advantages and consequences of printing one type of color invitation or another. Choose wisely and you should benefit a lot. Good Luck!
