Cantor Index runs a series of seminars and workshops on various aspects of spread betting, for both new and experienced investors.
City Index
Old established name but have lost some ground although they have now acquired Finspreads. Good prices and spreads on indices.

Capital Spreads claims its advanced technology and low overheads mean it can offer its customers the tightest possible spreads, covering shares, indices, commodities and currencies. Its trading platform automatically calculates a stop loss, based on deposited funds, with clients' margin deposits limited to their maximum loss.

TradIndex.com has one of the most comprehensive platforms, a similarly detailed online trading glossary, a minimum bet of 1 per point and a low minimum account opening level of 100. New customers are encouraged to use the beginner's guide before executing a deal. Stop losses are mandatory on all trades made with Tradindex, but there is no charge for this. Not a spread betting service at all, but a firm offering fixed-odds bets on financial events. This site specialises in what it calls structured financial bets and mini-derivatives contracts, concentrating on the forex markets, individual stocks and stock indices. In common with many spread betting sites, BetOnMarkets has a 'virtual account' option, which allows potential punters to try the service out in a real-time scenario before committing their own cash.
Every spread betting firm has its plus and minus points. Just because IG Index was the first doesn't mean that it offers the best spreads. Also, things change fast in this business. Key staff and dealers move from one firm to another making the spread betting industry a constantly changing marketplace.
