BlackBerry's latest handset, the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 is due to hit stores in August 2010
. The latest phone in the manufacturer's range, it offers the classic BlackBerry styling of the screen, optical trackpad and full QWERTY keyboard.
It offers a range of useful features in a handset measuring 109x 60x 13.9 mm thick and weighing in at just 104 g.
The BlackBerry Curve 3G features a 2.46 inch TFT screen which offers great on screen imagery thanks to up to 65K colours being displayed. For speed of text entry, a full QWERTY keyboard is provided along with a touch sensitive optical trackpad, which offers a thumb operated means of navigating menus within the BlackBerry 6.0 UI.
Users are alerted to incoming calls and messages thanks to a combination of vibration and ringing and also have the option to assign MP3 files as ringtones or take advantage of the built in polyphonic (32) ringtones. Handsfree communication is made easy thanks to a built in speakerphone system and 3.5 mm audio Jack.
256 MB of internal memory is provided as standard, however users have the option to utilise the built in microSD card slot and installing a memory card of up to a whopping 32 GB. Plenty of music tracks, video clips, documents and other files can be stored on this and is sure to suffice for Data Storage requirements of most users. The internal phonebook can store a seemingly endless number of entries and fields and also includes the ever popular Photocall feature which allows users to assign a photo to a particular contact within the phonebook.
Class 10 EDGE & GPRS connections are provided within the handset to keep users connected to cellular networks whilst access to the Internet is provided by HSDPA and Wi-Fi. Bluetooth and micro USB connections allow users to connect to other compatible hardware devices both wirelessly and directly in order to carry out a number of different tasks.
A handy two mega pixel camera is also provided on the handset. It is capable of producing good quality still images thanks to a pixel resolution of 1600x 1200, and also includes the option to shoot video footage of desired.
Plenty of extras are included as you may expect from a BlackBerry. These include features such as a media player, organiser, voice memo recorder a number of games, and BlackBerry Maps, which functions courtesy of GPS with A-GPS support. A handset is also available in both black and red colour variants which make the device fashionable as well as productive.
The BlackBerry Curve 3G makes an ideal option for professionals or simply people who like to utilise their phone to stay organised and entertained on the move.
