Blogging Is Like Sex - Do It Well, Do It Often
, and Do It With PassionWhen attempting to drive traffic to your website, an informative, up-to-date blog can be one your best resources. Constantly adding new content not only puts you in higher regard in your audiences' eyes, but search engines also favor you more for updating often. That being said, your blog posts needs to hold high value to your readers in order for them to desire to read them.
This applies whether you're executing a pay-per-click ad campaign, attempting to generate leads for an affiliate program or any other business, or simply want to provide the public with solid, reliable information about a niche market.
If you don't understand my analogy from the title, I'll break it down for you with a list.
1. Do It Well - Make sure your content is original. Not only would it suck to have to deal with a lawsuit for copyright infringement, but search engines actually penalize sites with duplicate information. Plus, you know people don't want to read the same thing over and over, right? You need to be able to adequately define, describe, or debunk an issue your audience will be interested in. Only then will they be willing to pay attention to what you have to say. Be competent!
2. Do It Often - When it comes to your blog or website, you want to update it often. Stale content doesn't generate page views nearly as well as new content does. It's also a great way to get repeat visitors, which in turn builds a community. When people are waiting for what you're going to say next, it's safe to say your website will probably be generating some revenue; it could be people signing up as customers or affiliates for your business, or just a few ad clicks. The point is, you need to keep current information flowing all the time. Keep it fresh people!
3. Do It With Passion - Write about something you know and are comfortable with. This will help you create the most valuable content for your visitors. It also helps to make the work of creating the content seem like leisure at times, which is a luxury to say the least. People like sincerity, and if you can convey it in your writing you'll find you get a great response. Keep it real!
The first step to a successful revenue strategy is driving traffic. Follow these simple tips and you'll attract more traffic to your website indefinitely. Remember: Be competent, stay fresh, and keep it real!
