. 30% is by your tone. That means that 90% of what you are saying is not coming out of your mouth. This area of study is very broad and extensive, but here are 5 key signs to look out for in liars.

1. Eye Movements

When a person lies, one does not make any attempt to make eye contact with the other. In fact, one tries to avoid eye contact. It is in the human basic nature to not want to believe and look at the target at what one is saying for the fear of shame and being found out.

The eye also shifts towards the left side in an attempt to utilize the right side of the brain to be creative in the story that one is trying to present towards the other party. Key notes; one avoids eye contact and ones eyes shifts towards the left.

2. Hand Gestures

When a person lies, one tends to move hands towards his mouth in order to cover or stop himself from saying what is being presented towards the other party. He may be scratching his nose, scratching the top lip in order to hide the fact that he is lying. One may also position his arms or hands in a cross arm manner, in order to defend himself against the possible accusation of being found out that one is lying.

3. Timing of Emotional Gestures

When a person lies in an example, fake laughter, small subtleties timings of emotional gesture is often off. For example, one may take a tad bit longer to laugh at the joke with his eyes when the laughter begins. These are small subtleties which give away a potential liar as one needs to consciously think about how to act logically on playing the part of a fake action. This therefore, leads to many cases of wrong timing in emotional gestures.

4. Verbal content

A lie lacks details. Intercept topics discussed with many questions and further details about the current topic in the case where a lie may be in place. The less details one is unwilling to give for innocent reasons, the more likely one is lying.

5. Body Level Comfort

As one progresses deeper and deeper into the lie, the body comfort level starts to get more and more uncomfortable. This can be seen by frequent arms crossing, back of body commonly facing towards the presented audience or sweating seen on the forehead. In general, one has to be able to keep up with the story depending on the complications resulted in the lie.

Putting human body language understanding into conscious practice take a considerable amount of time and effort to do so. Being able to accurately read body language is treated commonly as what men would call a womens intuition. Women on average, have better social consciousness of their surroundings as compared to men. Although men can also develop this skill, it is rare unless one is commonly found in various social groups. Emotionally and psychologically speaking, men and women are not wired the same. Even with full understanding of the concepts of hard-wired thinking, the main reason as to why it is hard-wired shows itself in arguments between men and women.
