Bone Supplement For Healthy Bones

The busy lifestyles of today make eating a diet balanced with important vitamins and minerals is often difficult, if not impossible

. This can have a negative effect on your body, especially your bones. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies can gradually impair bone strength and integrity, possibly contributing to the development of osteoporosis later in life. Bone supplement along with a healthy diet, and exercise could reduce that risk.

The human body is constantly removing and replacing calcium from bones. When there is not enough calcium to replace what has been removed, there is a deficiency. This can cause the bones to weaken and fracture easily.

The recommended calcium intake for an adult is 1000mg-1500mg every day. This can be acquired either through supplements or natural food sources such as: dairy products, leafy green vegetables, and salmon.

But calcium alone is not enough. The body needs several other vitamins and minerals in order to metabolise calcium.

Vitamin D is vital in calcium metabolism, and improves calcium absorption from the stomach and kidneys rather than the bones. A supplemental intake of 400 IU-600 IU daily is recommended. Natural sources for vitamin D are: sunlight, egg yolks, organ meats, and bone meal.

Magnesium is another important player for calcium uptake. A supplemental dose of 300mg-400mg daily is recommended. Almonds, nuts, wheat bran, and wheat germ are the natural sources.

L lysine also contributes to calcium absorption and is critical for the bone development of children. The recommended supplemental dose is 500mg once or twice a day. Food sources are: cheese, milk, fish, potatoes, lima beans, red meat, and essentially all protein rich foods.

These are only a few of the vitamins and minerals required for healthy bones. All of them can be found in food, but you have to be able to eat a well balanced diet, all the time. Using bone supplement on a regular basis could help lessen the chances of developing bone problems in the future.

However, please remember to always check with your health care provider before taking any medication or supplement!
