Boosting Morale with an Inspirational Poster

Sometimes the easiest way to boost employee morale is to simply redecorate the break area. While this may seem a little silly, employees wanting to take a break look for a relaxing atmosphere. By creating this feeling of relaxation for your employees you will see how refreshed they are when they return to their desk.

As a start, consider the paint color of the room. Light Ivory, Light Yellow and Light Blue have a calming effect. Pinks, reds, greens and purples all have an intense feeling associated with them. Plain white walls leave the people feeling stark. Once you have selected the color for the walls you should decorate the walls with inspirational posters. These posters should be themed for encouragement, success and self empowerment.

Why would inspirational posters be better than a picture of a vase of flowers? When an employee takes a break, they are often doing it because something is frustrating or hard. When sitting in the break room with their cup of coffee they will automatically gaze around the room, stopping to read the posters. It is human nature to do this. As they read the words of encouragement or self empowerment they will, even if only subconsciously, feel better and more prepared to accomplish the difficult task.

Simple tricks like this can, and will, help your employees work and feel better. It is important that employees feel well if you want them to perform well. This is a simple and quiet way, which the business owner can make that happen.
