I would think many of you cat owners know that this is true. But for some of you newbie cat or kitten owners, you probably don't know about this yet. But you will soon find out, that's for sure. Being a new cat owner is a wonderful and happy experience. Just getting your new cat/kitten should make you feel that little bit of excitement or even a tingle running through your body. A new member of the family who will bring plenty of years of happiness and companionship.

BUT It may not always be as rosy as that. Your cat is running rampant through the house, getting into mischief by clawing at the furniture, tearing apart your roll of toilet tissue in the bathroom, biting on precious objects you so very cherish. I know, my kittens use to do that stuff. We have a Russian Blue and a domestic shorthair. They use to get into a lot of trouble the first few weeks we had them. Now their 6 months old and are behaving very well. They rarely do the things we use to get pissed off at them for anymore.

Take a wild guess why they are so well behaved. They are now keeping themselves busy with a few simple cat toys we bought at our local retail store, for a few dollars we picked up some little stuffed cat toys for them to play with. Now they are not causing a big ruckus around the house. For hours on end they do chase each other and play fight, and thats great when they are doing their play fighting, but they spend more time now playing with their cat toys then anything else. We picked up a stick with a toy on a string. They go bananas playing with that thing for hours. When we are tired of playing with them with the stick toy, we tie it to the office chair and they still keep playing with it.

Most of the time they will stay out of trouble, its barely a problem anymore. Now it may not happen like this to you and your pet. But why not give it a try. Keeping your cat occupied with simple little things as toys can save you a lot of grief. Just for a few dollars at your local pet store or retail store is all it takes. Hell we got a cardboard box, they spend alot of time in there too.You will even get a few laughs out of it watching them frolic around playing. If your having a bad day, watching your cat playing around with their cat toys will relieve some tension off the days events. Enjoy your pet, and remember, a bored cat is a bad cat. Keep them busy.
