Brian Skiba Wins Arizona Filmmaker of the Year

Brian Skiba received the 2010 Arizona Filmmaker of the year Award from the Phoenix Film Foundation during a ceremony at the Phoenix Film Festival. Brian Skiba is an independent film writer and Director. He and his producing partner Laurie Love also premiered a feature film called Dirty Little Trick which was Showcased at the Festival.

This prestigious award can be won by anyone but like Skiba, all the past winners have been film Directors. The award is based on nomination and voting by past winners of the award. Brian was a clear favorite for the award having already finished shooting one feature in 2011.

The Festival in its eleventh year has been a springboard for many successful film careers as well as an advocate for the business of filmmaking in the State of Arizona. Chris LaMont President and Founder of the Phoenix Film Foundation said "Brian exemplifies everything we feel represents the Filmmaker of the year: passion, enthusiasm, and hard work . He is a guy who is making things happen. We look for the winner to be an inspiration to the other filmmakers in Arizona. The winner should be someone who inspire them to be the best of their kind. Brian sets this bar high."

"I appreciate all this honor" said Skiba, "I'm very humbled to have won the Filmmaker of the year award. I couldn't have done this without all the support I have received over the years from fellow film makers. I want to thank you everyone for being there and walking with me down this crazy road. Film making is a team sport!!"

Brian who is the co-owner of Victory Angel Films recently joined three other partners another company called Entertainment IQ.

Brian Skiba joins past recipients of this prestigious award who include: Webb Pickersgill 2009Bivas Biswas (2008), Paul DeNigris (2007), Bruce Dellis (2006), the Ronalds Brothers (2005).
