Bring French Romance To Your Bedroom

. If you find your room lacking, if you think it's time for a change, Black French bedroom furniture really can make a difference. Here are a few tips for bringing the trademark French romance out of Paris and into your bedroom:

1. Start With the Bed

If you want your bedroom to feel romantic, start with the bed and work out from there. Most of the romance is going to be taking place in the bed, so start with a nice French bed that you like and find a dresser, a night stand and anything else you like to match the bed. Sheets should be a priority, as well. Silk or satin sheets, or just a really high thread count cotton can add a sense of romance missing from most British bedrooms.

2. Minimalize

Nothing is less sexy than clutter. It doesn't invite a romantic mood to have to navigate around five or six misplaced chairs and piles of laundry on your way to and from the bathroom. If you want to invite romance into your bedroom, invite clutter out. Get rid of furniture you don't like, don't want or don't need and minimalize down to just the essential and most beautiful, romantic pieces. In this country we have a tendency to want to add and add and add to our possessions. This hoarding and clutter is anything but romantic. Go for quality, not quantity of furniture, and keep your selection small but impressive.

3. Don't Stop at Furniture

A romantic setting demands more than just some romantic French furniture. Everything about the French culture is sensual and exciting, from the wines and deserts to the food and the music. Even French pop music is just plain sexier than most of what you have in the rest of the world. Try setting the mood right with a bottle of red or white as you prefer and some strawberries and cream. A few aromatic candles and dim lighting can be a help as well. The point is to set the mood, not just the location. If you treat your bedroom as nothing more than a place to sleep, then all it will ever be is a place to sleep. Take the time to set the atmosphere and you will be rewarded.

Setting a romantic feel into the bedroom is important. It's about living the life you want to live, and that means not shortchanging yourself on romance.
