Another good clothing trend to work is the nautical look and what's more is that you've probably already got a few pieces in your wardrobe that will work with this look, so that means you won't need to spend too much to finish it off. Stripes and polka dots are great here, just don't wear them together and just go for one item at a time, otherwise you'll look like you're trying too hard. A simple striped top or a polka dot skirt will probably work best.

If you're thinking more along the lines of clothing pieces then it's best to try them on first to see if the style suits you and also remember that styles of clothes tend to go out of fashion more than prints and patterns do.

Cropped trousers, chinos and peg leg trousers are a big fashion trend for the summer and the great thing about them is that anyone can wear them, so don't be afraid to buy a few pairs to add to your wardrobe. Batwing tops have been around for a few seasons now and are a safe wardrobe addition too; they're also really flattering, comfortable and easy to wear. Other clothing trends include one-shoulder dresses, tulip skirts and wide leg trousers, all of which will suit you as long as you find a good style to suit your body shape. Probably one of the best clothing trends of the past year for any woman regardless of age, height and body shape, is the maxi dress or maxi skirt, so flattering, stylish and comfortable, the maxi length works for everyone and will see you through so many season and occasions with style.

If you're feeling a little apprehensive about adding the latest fashions to your wardrobe then start off small and work up once you're feeling more confident. A great way to do this is by using accessories like jewellery and scarves or handbags and shoes to add trends to your outfit. And what's more is that with some fashions, less is more, so may want to stick using accents of trends to bring your wardrobe up to date with little touches rather than investing too much.
