My Personal Review On Britax Roundabout 55 Convertible Car Seat
Britax Roundabout 55 - Smokey Pearl We 2 of 55 Britax Roundabout car seats in the smoky pearl, one for each of our vehicles. We have this installed safety seat facing the rear, in a Toyota Camry 2005 and a 2005 Chevy Silverado extended cab pickup, and is broadly in both vehicles. In the Camry, the car seat is installed behind the passengers, and there are plenty of legroom for the person in the passenger seat - the passenger seat is almost all the way back. Our previous carseat was a Graco Snugride, and the round of 55 takes up much less space for passenger's legs. In the van, we have the car seat installed in the rear center seat. Initially installed behind the passenger, but looking back, this seat was not a good fit - the passenger seat had to be almost all the way to go. However, there is plenty of space for rear-seat side in the center and the seat does not affect the position of the driver's or passenger at all.
We have been using this car seat for a week, and so far so good. The seat easily installed with LATCH, we tried to install a seat belt with this seat yet. The quality of this seat is evident, especially when compared with our previous seat. The fabric cover is a soft tissue, plush, and the colors are true to what is shown in the picture. The cream background points are gray-brown and beige, and the edge is a medium brown color. The seat is well padded, and our daughter seems comfortable and happy in it. Velcro tabs to hold the harness straps back when not in use are a nice touch. Buckle 5-point harness is neither more nor less difficult to lock and unlock the seat from Graco. The harness is much easier to fit in this seat compared to our previous entry, except (as another reviewer mentioned) that the adjustment strap is caught between the car seat and seat back when you look back . But that's not a big deal for us, as they rarely adjust the harness straps anyway.
One of the reasons why you chose this seat because it can potentially reverse versus 40 pounds. However, I am pretty sure our daughter will get through this rear-facing seat in height before they reach 40 pounds. Same for the march. At this point, our 9 month old is 20.5 pounds and 28 inches. 5 and the shoulder straps pass through the 2nd set of holes, and not far from ascending to the third series of holes. However, if we are able to maintain its position on the seat back until it is 2-2. 5 years old, and looking straight ahead until she is 4 or less, be satisfied.
