So, you want to play a Browser RPG, do you? Yes, I would too if I were you. Now, often times I am asked; "why a browser game when you could easily play another?" Pretty good question, however, one response would be completely insufficient. The are far too many things that cause me to favor the Browser RPG over it's down-loadable cousin. So, I suppose we could go down the list one by one explaining my reasons.

First, honestly, nine times out of ten I don't have to spend money on a Browser RPG if I don't want to. I know what you are thinking, "wow you are cheap!" That may be, but hey, times are tough and the economy sucks. Not to mention, a natural result of NOT having to pay is the principal that I can try the Browser RPG before I invest any money into it. Plus, if I do choose it's to support the game, not because I have to.

Second, admittedly, I am impatient by nature. I really do not enjoy having to wait four to five hours for a download to play a game I may not even like. With a Browser RPG, it is just... there. You may need some program such as like Flash, but chances are you most likely already have it. You can just sign up, sign in, and start playing. There is no waiting, there is no downtime, nothing at all. Like I said, it is just... there.

Third, some of the games online are single player, that is no fun at all. It actually stinks! I would much rather spend my time kicking around other players in a Browser RPG rather than NPC's. Admit it, you have done it yourself. You have walked around some lower level zone for a couple hours just to beat up on other players to make yourself feel good. Why work on all that gear, why collect all that loot and spend all that time leveling if you can't flex your "I am better than you," muscles. It is not just killing other players, you can team up with your friends as well. In a Browser RPG, you can party with you allies and guild mates to complete various dungeons, raids and other common goals such as quests and world events.

Last, for the purposes of this particular article, I particularly enjoy the flexibility of knowing the game is ever changing and ever growing with the funding of it's players. With more players comes more funding for new game mechanics. New game mechanics means more players and voila! There you have it folks, a fantastic cycle to keep your favorite Browser RPG up and running for your enjoyment.

So in the future, as your browsing the Internet, check out the many "free to play" games out there. Many of them are well made, well maintained and are very enjoyable to play. If you happen to enjoy them, fantastic, purchase some in game money or some new items and get ahead of the curve!
