The 500GB hard drive connects to your computer through USB 2.0. It also has a FireWire 800 port for speedy file transfer, though to do that you have to remove it from the dock. The Dualie is compatible with the entire range of Apple iPod and iPhone devices, including the newly launched iPhone 4.

Dualie was initially sold exclusively through Apple but the product has now been made more widely available. Paul Hudson, Buffalo's sales director for Northern Europe, said: "We have now extended the sale of the Buffalo Dualie through our distribution and reseller partners - this gives the channel an opportunity to engage further with customers around the launch of the iPhone 4."
