Safety first
Be sure that your hands are dry and free from moist. Unplug the computer power cord before touching anything inside the computer. Be sure to discharge first any electric static charge present in your body. How? By touching the metal part of the computer casing. If you have an anti static wrist band use it.
Checking your system compatibility
Check your memory if you have the correct type and speed. If your motherboard supports DDR2 memory that will be the memory you're holding on right now because, DDR, DDR2 and DDR3 are totally different. Be sure that you use with the same speed as the motherboard specifications to avoid any problems in the future.
Here we Go
Look for the notch below the memory module between the gold pins. Make it sure that it is perfectly inline with the slot break in the memory slot. If it doesn't match up just reverse the memory module you maybe putting it in the wrong way.
After securing the correct position insert the memory module in vertical position. Press down both ends of the memory module until the tabs lock on both sides. You can also press both the tab lock inward for further securing the lock.
