The length of the guy wire is determined at around 70-80% of the height of the tower and is measured from the base of the tower to the anchor heads.
Why guyed towers?
The decision to construct guyed towers or self-supporting towers is not dependant on the telecom operator, but rather on the site where it is planned. Generally, guyed towers that are built 100 feet above the ground are considered to be cheaper than self-supporting towers, while the opposite holds true in crowded metropolitan areas where land is expensive.
