Byron Bay Photography Is Easy!
With a thriving community of close to 30,000 people
, Byron Bay is located on the beautiful east coast of Australia.
Visitors to Byron Bay are usually drawn to photography. Who could resist photographing the vista over the hinterland, the rolling waves of the beaches or the hustle and bustle of the caf scene? As a photographer in Byron Bay, I see many photographic opportunities. If you only just look outside the square you can really make your holiday snaps something really special. I would highly recommend the following places for taking great photographs on your Byron Bay holiday.
One of the most beautiful things in life you could possibly witness is the migration of humpback whales. Did you know that annually, thousands of Humpback whales leave their summer feeding grounds in Antarctica and migrate north to winter breeding grounds in the tropical waters of the Southern Hemisphere? This annual migration takes place from May to December and can be seen on the East Coast of Australia. Byron Bay is fortunate enough to be directly in the path of the migrating whales. For whales watchers, Byron Bay is definitely the place to be. With many whale watching tours in Byron Bay it will be easy for you to practice your photography skills.
Another photography wonderland exists at Julian Rocks Marine Park, a scuba diving mecca; a stone's throw from Byron Bay. Australia has many different diving and underwater photography sites but this is one of the best by far with one thousand different species of fish residing there! Whales, Dolphins, Manta Rays, Grey Nurse and Leopard Sharks as well as three species of Turtle are all common visitors to Julian Rocks.
If ocean and mountain views are more your style, there is a brilliant walk way all the the way up to Byron Bay Lighthouse. It is very common for brides and grooms to have their official wedding photography done there. The view might just take your breath away.
But this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to great photography spots around the region. Take a trip out to Minyon Falls in the Nightcap Ranges where Eucalyptus trees are in abundance and you might spy gorgeous diverse ranges of indigenous wildlife. Maybe you could do some photography in the cool, peaceful rainforest whilst listening to the call of the local lorikeets. Those large green rainforest leaves make a great photography object when the sunlight shines through them.
What better place to practice your photography than in Byron Bay.
