Kinds of Calligraphy styles

There are four common types of calligraphy styles including Japanese, Chinese, Arabic and western. Each style has its own look and ways to adorn symbols and letters.

Western Calligraphy: It is one of the main calligraphy styles that consist of Latin writing system. It usually focuses on Roman alphabet and includes many sub style of lettering like black letter, antique, copperplate and chancery hand.

Arabic Calligraphy: another popular style is known as calligraphy style which is usually written starting from left to right. It is mainly associated with religion, Islamic art and Arabic language. It comprises of almost 28 letters and 18 shapes letter. In addition, the passages and proverbs from the holy Quran are the main source of Arabic calligraphy and Islamic art.

Chinese Calligraphy: It is one of the important elements of Asian culture in which ink brushes are usually used for Chinese letter writing. Coashu and Xingshu are the two styles of Chinese calligraphy that are less fast and constrained but create the impression of perceptible.

Japanese Calligraphy: Just like other style, it includes symbols and characters in place of letter. This style is quite popular for its meaningful characters, style and beauty. Tensho, Gyosho, Kanji and shinsho are the styles that are used in Japanese calligraphy.

Some other styles are calligraphy writing, calligraphy tattoos and calligraphy alphabet. In short, we can say that calligraphy is the art of stylized letter techniques that make your writing alive through effective variations of size, style and color.
