As fashion changes the idea of campervan hire as an alternative to a package holiday is getting more and more acceptable.

There are many things to recommend a campervan holiday, it is perhaps a way of living and relaxing that has perhaps only just been noticed by the main stream. It is and idea whose time has come.

The package holiday was a wonderful thing, but of its time, when the world was a much more civilized place, airports weren't places where you had to penetrate layers of security just to go on a two week holiday to sit in the sun in Spain. You weren't forced to take your shoes off or be subjected to a full body scan, it was a more innocent time, but that was then.

A campervan allows you to take the comforts of home with you, start the ignition and choose any direction you see fit, the cardinal points of the compass matter not and the continent is only a short train or ferry ride away.

The only time you'll be sat in front of a screaming baby is if you choose to take your own, not flight cancellations or over-booked tours. You only have to look at the Icelandic volcano disruption to realize the sense in being able to travel under your own steam and not at the whim of some dust-fearing officials at the Met office.

The world is unfortunately not the same as when the package holiday seemed like a good idea, but these days there is so much to be said for hiring a campervan it really is obvious why more an more people are taking to the road in this fashion.

There is no doubt that the idea of no fly holidays are going to get more and more popular as confidence in flying decreases. This explains why more and more people are choosing to hire a motorhome for their holidays.
