Keep in mind that this will help your friends, old classmates, or colleagues, to be able to find your profile easier in "Search" engine. Of course, this option is helpful only if you really wish to reconnect, with people around you. The choice is completely yours.
You should also remember that Facebook indicates name changes have to be thoroughly checked, before they are confirmed, as to make sure you are the person, you claim you are. In spite of this, most name changes have immediate effect, but if that does not happen, you should wait for 24 hours, and try again using a different one this time.
