There are a number of different payment companies that most courier companies are going to accept. Traditionally, things like company checks are the most common way to pay for these types of services. Many clients also like to charge any of their courier services to a credit card so that they have all of their billing information in a single number when it comes time to balance their books.

The business model is changing however. The office and store days are giving way to more and more people working out of their homes, and entrepreneurship is on the rise. Most of this new small business boom is driven by the internet, with many people completely running their businesses online, including their banking.

Most people who run an online business utilize PayPal, the largest and most popular online payment solution. As such, they also like to pay for their courier services via PayPal if this is an option. While it isn't safe to say that most couriers are accepting PayPal yet, more and more are adapting their systems to accept this method of payment. More couriers are also installing systems that allow customers to place orders online. The more online integrated a business is, the more likely they are to accept PayPal.

Some couriers don't accept PayPal yet either because they are just behind the technology curve or because they don't fully trust or understand the security system of this payment method yet. If this is your preferred method of doing business though, keep looking. If you look for long enough you should be able to find a courier somewhere in your area that does accept PayPal. If you already have a standing courier that doesn't accept it, be sure to let them know that this is a feature that you are looking for. That is the only way that couriers will be driven to accept new payment methods.
