Car Buying Tips - What To Look For

Once you are in your buying a car mode, there are four main criteria that you should

break each car down into as you begin your quest for buying a new car.

These four criteria are:

Quality - Price - Value - Reliability

When it comes to quality, I simply referred to the workmanship of the vehicle and the durability of the vehicle over an extended period of time. Getting a car with a good track record of workmanship and durability enables you to recoup your car payments well beyond the time when you stop making those payments. In other words if you pay on a car for five years and it lasts you 10 years, you have effectively spread your payments out over 10 years and paid next to nothing on a monthly basis.

If you have visited my website at all, then you know that I stress that price is not just the number presented to you on the window sticker of the car. When buying a car is extremely important that you consider the long-term cost record of the car, insurance costs, and the depreciation of the car.

The value of the car is simply what your car will be worth over time. As I just mentioned, that comes in the form of depreciation. Make no mistake about it when it comes to buying a car depreciation is a huge factor that you should consider. Even though you don't write a check each and every month for depreciation as you do for your payment for your insurance; depreciation is a very real cost when it comes to owning a car.

Reliability or sometimes known as dependability simply refers to the ability of your car not to break down over and over again throughout the course of your ownership. As you may know the hourly rate that mechanics charge for working on a car is not cheap. So, do your research on the reliability and the dependability of each car that you may be looking at when it comes time for car buying.

I cannot stress enough to you that you do your research first before you rush out to buy your next car. When it comes to car buying, these four factors should be given serious consideration. You may be able to find a car that two of the four, or three of the four factors... but we really want to locate a car that scores well in all the categories.

The bottom-line is that car ownership is expensive at its best... and making poor choices when car buying can significantly add to your monthly financial stress.
