After working hard for my A-Level examinations, my friends and I were planning a two week holiday abroad. We had been studying for months and wanted to go somewhere in the sun and relax. As well as a little partying!

My parents had consented to the little holiday under the strict condition that we would not go to Ibiza. I quickly agreed and asked if I could go to Ayia Napa in Cyprus. They told me that this was also out of bounds. After a few discussions with my friends we agreed on a holiday in Albufeira in the Algarve. One of my friends had been there before and said the beaches were beautiful and the nightlife was very lively. It sounded perfect.

We started to research the internet for flights and accommodation. It was more tricky than we had expected as we were on a very tight budget. After trawling through the internet we found a 3 star apartment for only 380. It seemed too good to be true so we quickly paid our deposit to reserve the holiday.

We then had to work out how to pay for the rest of the holiday. My parents had agreed to give me 200 spending money but I needed a little more. I already had a part time job in a local off licence and asked if they could give me some more hours. Unfortunately, they told me that all the shifts were covered.
