Career Advancement, What Got Me To The Next Level

When I take a look back on my career advancement there were certain things that brought be to the next level

. I started to move away from the idea that I had to do everything myself. I started to outsource and reduced the number of employees that I had working for me.

At one point I had 9 people that did all kinds of stuff for me. One day I looked at the math and said to myself that I could get this done cheaper outsourcing this. So that is what I did. I got rid of everyone except my assistant and my brother who does all of my video editing and that kind of stuff. That became my staff. I made them work harder, frankly, but I paid them well for it.

They had to do more things but as a result of it I was able to outsource many of the things my former employees were doing. I wasn't paying all of the regular things that go along with having employees and I was able to take that money and invest it into other areas of my business. My stress level went down as well because I didn't have all these people to worry about.

Teaching people how to do SEO was a turning point for me. If I was going to be doing this for other people, then I should become an authority on the subject. I get lots of exposure through online events that I have and more and more people are learning about what I do all the time.

Those were some of the big turning points for me, but the big things now that I am doing now are embracing social media. I learned how to use it early on in my career and I just built a large following by it. I'm sure I wasn't the first person to tweet, but I learned how to use that realm of social media to my advantage.

So for me getting involved with different realms of social media has really helped me out a lot. It is so nice to see how this is bringing my business to the next level. Anybody who is thinking about growing their business or starting a business, they can look at what is being done and say yes I should be doing that too.

What other people should be doing is reading my blog and how I keep up to date with the various things that are going on around me. I talk about things open and honestly. I've talked about what works for me and what doesn't. The more I can do the more I am able to let my business grow. That made me with my career advancement.
