Career Planning: Getting Ready For Your First Interview

When you graduate from a college or university

, it is high time to start your search for your first job. However, students often take part-time and summer jobs during their college years and they may find this article useful as well. There are several stages you will have to complete before getting the desired job and one of them is the interview. An interview for a part-time job or a summer job can become a dress rehearsal for your first real job. How should I look at my job interview?

Your appearance depends on the job you want to get directly. If this is a vacancy in a bank or suchlike official organization, you should wear a business suit. If you are going to be interviewed for the vacancy of a DJ in a night club, a business suit will look ridiculous, will not it?

Still, you should try to look natural. If you behave as if your tie is strangling you, this will not be very impressive. Probably, you should go without a tie at all.

Anyway, no matter what style of clothes you prefer, you should observe ethical norms. It means that your outfit should not be vulgar, it should not be provocative.

You should look confident. A stammering candidate who blushes to the top of his/her ears will never impress a human resource manager.
