. From the minute you step foot into a restaurant you are greeted with various items, all of which make up the running of a successful outlet. Within this article we investigate some of these products and describe their impact on you, the customer.

Glasses:

On entrance to a busy restaurant you will often be given the opportunity to sit in the bar area and enjoy a drink whilst your table is prepared. Weather you choose wine, beer or a soft drink, the glass will be sparkling clean. This is one of the first things you notice. Tablecloths:


Once seated, you will notice your table is covered with a pristine cloth. The colour will depend on the style and theme of the eatery and as a rule is free from creases and looks amazing.

Napkins:

Often chosen to complement the table cloth, napkins made from cotton or linen suggest the place you have chosen to eat cares about their customers and wish to provide a high standard. Folded into interesting shapes will fill you with even more confidence that the service you are about to receive will be top notch. Throw away napkins are not appropriate for all establishments.

Cutlery:

Just like your glass, cutlery is set out correctly and perfectly cleaned with not a smudge in sight. Having to request another knife and fork does not bode well for an oncoming dish. Your table is laid with a soup spoon, desert spoon, starter knife and fork and a main meal knife and fork. If you order a speciality dish the waiting staff will bring you an additional sharper knife.

Side Plate:

Designed for buttering a bread role to enjoy with soup or any other starter, this will have no chips and be free from stains.

Dinner Plate:

Presentation is everything. The colour of crockery may vary from place to place but standard sees white and black plates as popular. Your meal will come served neatly and with no splashes.

Condiments:

Clean and matching, salt and pepper pots are always full, ready and waiting to season meals as and when required.

Each of these factors is taken into consideration subconsciously every time you choose to dine out and the experience you have will be passed to family, friends and colleagues.
