Celebrate With Gratitude And Appreciation - Give Notes Of Thanks
The giving of a beautiful note is a gift to both the giver and the receiver
. The giver has a lovely moment to recall something unique and positive in the person to whom they are giving the note and the receiver gets to feel the moment; feel special, unique and worthy. Often such notes inspire a person at just the right moment. While email and text messages are fast and fantastic, the note is a gentle way of showing love and gratitude in the fast paced world that we live in.
We live in a time of instant gratification; want to know something, just get on your cell phone. Wondering what your friend is thinking - just email them and ask. Want to tell someone what just happened, text them or pop it onto twitter for the whole world to see. We are time poor, compassion fatigued and in need of love ourselves.
This is where the note of gratitude and appreciation comes in - by giving, you open yourself to receiving. If you make the time you might find that you have more time, show love and you get to receive love. It is all a matter of attraction. The giving of a note creates joy for another and pleasure for yourself and what the world needs is a lot more joy. Bet you never knew that the humble note was the bearer of such a wealth of good!
A note is a very personal way to send someone a message. It sends the message that you care, that you will take the time to put pen to paper, buy the stamp and mail the note. All the time never knowing that your note actually made it or how the person felt when they received it. It has an air of mystery and it is purely about giving without any expectation in return. Yet the likelihood of receiving after giving a note is quite high.
As an example, I recently befriended a couple; it seemed like a nice thing to do. They invited me to lunch and I went, enjoyed myself and wrote them a note of thanks, popped it in the mail and went on with life. Just three weeks later I received a call from the woman, offering me a valuable and very useful gift as she no had no further use for it. I was blown away by the offer and joyously accepted. Later on I understood that my own gift of the note of thanks resulted in her gift to me.
Now I am not suggesting for one moment that you give with receiving in mind - in fact quite the reverse. It is the law of attraction that if you are being thankful, positive and grateful, which is all part of sending a note, chances are you will attract those very same things to yourself. The giving of a note is, after all, an expression of love and gratitude. When you write a note of thanks, you identify the qualities in the person for which you are thankful. It is highly likely that you, also, will either have those qualities or aspire to them. That is one of the reasons that you are appreciative of them to begin with.
By putting that into words, you do two things; first you show gratitude to another and second you may well be expressing something positive about yourself. These are the actions of a happy person, a loving, generous and giving person. When you are in that state, you are more likely to attract that to yourself. That is just how the law of attraction works.
For years I have coached management teams to give notes of appreciation to their staff and have invented interesting and different ways for employees to receive notes of thanks. Throughout that time, I was aware that people kept the notes that they were given and treasured them as memories of a special moment.
The giving of a beautiful note is a gift to both the giver and the receiver so step up to the challenge to find something special in five people you know or come into contact with. The spin off to writing notes is that over time, you become less critical and more appreciative. Now that has got to be a good thing.
Oh, and just a reminder, an email or phone call, while being delightful, will just not do. A note is a note is a note and only a note will do.
Have you ever been blessed by a note? How did you feel?
