, just to get away from celebrity gossips. I have tried and to tell you the truth succeeded to some extent, but ultimately I just got hooked up to it. Majority of the celebrity gossips are nonsense but it carries a lot of entertainment value. Entertainment is one thing that keeps everyone ticking, doesnt matter where they search for it. Imagine a scenario where there was no entertainment in this stressful life, you would have most of your friends or relatives in the mental asylum including yourself.

Recently, I was surfing the channels on my ATT Uverse TV, and came across the "TMZ Show" on the Fox channel. The show host was talking about a celebrity who was angry for being thrown out of a flight in the airport. He was comparing the airline company to an American bus service company, which resulted in making not only the airline company furious but also the American bus service company. Gosh! Some celebrities dont know how foolish they are. Anyway, hearing this news brought my attention to an interesting celebrity news that happened a year ago. One of the famous US celebrity, Wesley Snipes was acquitted for tax fraudulent scheme as he had not paid tax for some years and was misleading the US government.

Why would Wesley Snipes make such a mistake? Of course, he is one of U.S.s richest actors known for his various action roles especially for the Marvel comics character Blade. He played the part of the superhero, Blade, who hunts down vampires and making his character known as "Day Walker" as he is half vampire and human who could walk in the sunlight. Not only he played the lead, he also produced the three of the Blade installments. Besides doing action movies, Wesley Snipes did a lot of offbeat movies in comedy, musical etc giving him much appreciation from the critics and public recognition. But the Blade franchise was the one that heightened his career to super stardom. After reaching the heights of stardom, came a lot of controversies that surrounded him, of which the major one was the tax fraudulent scheme, for which he went to jail.

In 2006, accompanied by two of his friends, he was charged with a fraud case where he claimed to cheat government the United States in a tax scandal. He was also charged with six counts of willfully failing to file federal income tax returns. The conspiracy charge against Snipes included allegations that he filed a false tax return and owed the US government almost $17 million. On top of this, Snipes had used the help of accountants who already had a history of creating false tax returns and fooling the government. With the help of these accountants, Snipes was able to obtain refund payments and did not pay tax from 1999 to 2004.

Defrauding a person is a crime and defrauding the government is not to be taken lightly, especially when it comes to celebrities. The media coverage, the paparazzi and all that glitter attracts a lot of attention on you. Anyway the trial for the tax fraudulent scheme of Wesley Snipes went on for four years under the surveillance of extended media coverage. In the end, the judge found him guilty and sentenced him to three years of prison. His lawyers tried to appease the court by quoting his charitable activities he has done for so many years, but that couldnt instigate the judge in reducing the punishment.

On December 9, 2010, Snipes reported to federal prison to begin his three-year sentence. His lawyer made an appeal to the United States Supreme Court in June 6, 2011 against his sentence which was declined. Currently Snipes is serving his term at the Federal Correctional Institution in Pennsylvania, and is scheduled to get release on July 19, 2013.
