I do remember the day when the Cell Phone first came to my home. Like others i felt that it was the millennium greatest invention. Years passed it appeared like i cant live without this 'thing'. I started wondering how people use to survive without this 'thing'. It has become a complete entertainment set - music, videos, chat, games.....I was able to remain in contact with my friends who went to US. Not very soon i realized the negative side of it.

I have seen an accident - a man with his 3yr old child on his bike lost his last breath with 'the thing' in his hand. I always thought, the calls were very cheap but the man one call costed 2 lives. Everyone of us know the rule that 'the thing' should not be used while driving, then why? The reason is simple- we got addicted to it. That one incident painted a new picture of 'the thing'in my mind "The Bad Thing".

We feel time just passes by in travel with 'the thing' with us but we fail to realize at what expense is this happening- the healthy conversation we used to have with our fellow passengers or the wonderful time we used to spend with our family or the real India- the fields, the grass at the outskirts. 'The Thing may be shortening the distance among folks living far away but for sure it is widening the gap among people who r closely related.

A father purchases 'the thing' to his daughter considering her safety, but being a girl i know how many of these girls are making use of this 'thing' having no time to speak with their parents but spendingmuch ofher precious time chattingwith some unknown strangers.We need to accept that the same is the case with boys. Technology which is being developed is being used for the wrong reasons. The one whodeveloped the features of cameras and videos would have never guessed that it can be used for many rotten purposes.

What has become the primary question by the cellphone dealer is 'What features would you like to prefer Sir'. This clearly signifies that 'the thing' is not being bought for the reason it has to be bought. Scientifically its been proved that brain to man ratio is being decreased and good god with this 'thing' our brain is further getting damaged. We greatly follow our movies stars in every aspect. Guess which model of 'the thing' does the Super Star Rajnikanth uses? U got to believe that its the basic model of Nokia. We follow film stars in every aspect why not in this? God only knows or may be its not so difficult to guess how our life style is further going to change with spread of 3G services.

CellPhone is not after all a bad thing, but we are making it. Good that we are able to be in regular contact with our family and friends but it should not be at the cost of lives nor career. Good that it is providing us entertainment but still again it should not cost us loosing some invaluable things in life. 'IT' is not our basic necessity. In exam terminology 'IT' is neither a necessary not sufficient condition for life but rather just another tool in our life.
