Century City, a modern masterpiece

Beverly Hills, located in Los Angeles County, California in the United States is

an exclusive neighbourhood which is home to many Hollywood celebrities and other wealthy residents. The city is reputed for its expansive luxurious homes and is considered to be among the largest in the nation. There are also smaller houses and duplex units but there is no doubt that Beverly Hills is one of the most affluent areas in the United States. Century City is a residential and commercial area of the city of Los Angeles, bordering Beverly Hills. It is a highly developed commercial district with many executives and law firms, particularly those with links to the music, film and television spheres having their offices there. Century City has many important landmarks, several connected to the entertainment industry. One prominent building is the headquarters of the Creative Artists Agency, which forms a section of the Century Park complex. Fox Plaza a 35 floor skyscraper is the centre of operations of 20th Century Fox. This building has been used in the filming of several Fox movies. Another major landmark is the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Tower, also known as Constellation Place, home to the legendary Hollywood studio. This 491 ft. skyscraper is among the tallest in the area and MGM leases two thirds of the immense office space. The lofty SunAmerica Centre won the BOMA International Office Building of the Year Award for 2001/2002. The magnificent Century Plaza Towers are the tallest buildings in Century City and the highest in southern California other than downtown Los Angeles. The skyscrapers have been featured in movies, TV series and video games. The Century City site originally belonged to 20th Century Fox, who later sold the property to property developer William Zeckendorf and the Alcoa Corporation. Over time the opulent buildings of Century City emerged, and it is now a significant sightseeing area for foreign visitors.
