The Cesar Millan dog whisperer TV show has been shown in over 80 countries across the world and is now in its sixth season
. The now very famous dog whisperer has also written a best selling dog training book entitled Cesars Way which was written on the back of his TV show. Cesar Millan was born on August 27th 1969 in Culiacan Mexico. The young man got his early experiences in dog psychology by watching the dogs guarding and herding on the farms that his Grandfather worked. The TV presenter was impressed with the quite and calm but assertive manner that his Grandfather used when working with the dogs, and watched how the dogs followed and respected his Grandfather. The dog trainer followed his Grandfathers example and has now become famous for his mantra stay calm and assertive. He believes that dogs need good food and a good job and is a keen fan on using exercise and dog walking to train dogs to understand that you are the alpha male and pack leader. The trainer also believes that by using exercise you are not only training your dog and giving your pet exercise but you are strengthening your bond. The dog whisperer often uses his body posture during his TV show to exert a quiet assertiveness. When you watch the show you will see him sat with his chest out and shoulders back as he feels this exerts your authority as the pack leader and helps the training process. Another of the trainers often used dog training methods is the Alpha Roll. This is when the trainer forces the dog onto its back in a defensive posture and pins the dog down. This along with his hand smacks or hand nips that he calls them has led to some trainers, vets and dog owners to call for a ban to his show as they feel that the methods are inhumane to a dog that is already stressed. Love him or hate him though, there is little doubt with a new magazine titled Cesars Way out and a new series this dog whisperer is here to stay.
