Challenges In Product Training
Product Training has evolved as the important aspect of the big enterprises
. Product Training is updating the employees of the organization on the products offered by them. They are explained all the features and benefits of the products. Nowadays enterprises want that their employees to have deep insight about the companys products and services so that they can deliver to their optimum. The needs of employees vary due to which training purpose also differ. For instance salesman has different need of training. They want the training so that they can explain advantages of the product to the customers. Customer care executive need to have in depth knowledge of products which they can use to make presentations. Through this they can explain the product modifications to the customers. Product Training can be offered to people through different delivery models like e-Learning, m-Learning,
Instructor Led Training etc. But mostly e-Learning method is used to deliver training on products. This is the most comfortable method due to which developers have designed the e-Learning courses for product training programs. Sometimes the products are so complex that the E-learning training program varies. Different challenges are face by the product training program developers in spite of their best efforts. Below is the list of challenges:
Learning objectives are not clearly stated
For developing the training module we have to state the objectives clearly. But most of the time identifying the learning objectives becomes complicated. Before starting to develop the Product Training program it is very essential to conduct a need analysis. If the objective for which training is given to the employees is not clearly stated to the instructional designers, they won't be able to present it precisely. With unclear objective it becomes very difficult for the developers to make effective instructional strategy. Even the training needs differ according to the target audience.
Not able to access SME
For developing the proper storyboard there is need to contact the subject matter experts or SMEs. But while designing the training module, developers do not have the access to the subject matter experts due to which many challenges arise. They are not available every time so the process of developing course modules slows down. As we know that different products have different product experts which creates problem for the training developer to co-ordinate all information simultaneously.
Technical content is extremely Technical
Organizations deliver the product training which deal with a complex products line. As the trainees have different training need, it becomes very difficult for the learning content developer to present all these information in such a way that it is easily understood by the learners.
