One is to locate the damaged fuse and the next step is to replace it. Though it sounds easy it needs skill and knowledge to do this. Once the fuse box is found, remove it and find the particular fuse that connects the radio. This can be done by following the image that is provided in the cover of the fuse box. Once the fuse is located, the fuse is necessarily checked for damage like burnt side. This may be blackened if blown. This fuse is removed.


Another fuse similar to the dimensions of the fuse that was blown is bought from a near by automobile dealer. The new fuse is pushed back to the original position slowly and has to fit in properly. The direction of the fuse must also be ensured to be the same as that of the rest of the fuses. After replacing the engine may be turned on and radio is checked.

The radio would have worked if the damage was with the fuse in the car. If that is not the case, the fuse in the radio would have got damaged. To check this, the dash board is removed after disconnecting the battery of the car. The radio is then pulled carefully so that the connections are not disconnected. The fuse is present in the behind of the car stereo. This is removed and checked for damage.

If it is damaged, it replaced by a similar one. Fuses are easily available in any shop that deals with hardware. The new fuse is then replaced in the same position and radio is inserted back to its position. It is then checked.
