Trains to Delhi can be boarded from any of the two stations in Chennai - Chennai Egmore (MS) and Chennai Central (MAS). These trains arrive at the New Delhi (NDLS) or H Nizamuddin (NZM) of Delhi. Some of the important trains connecting the two cities are Andaman Express (16031), Rajdhani Express (12433), Nzm Garib Rath (12611), Duronto Express (12269) and the Sampark Kranti express (12651) among others.
Online advance reservation of tickets is facilitated by Indian Railways. Advance booking of tickets is highly recommended, especially if one plans for travel from Chennai to Delhi during holidays, and while travelling with kids and senior citizens, for comfortable journey. As the distance between both the places is pretty high, travelling by road is not recommended.
