Chicago Chevy Silverado the vehicle of choice for Verizon Wireless
Not only is General Motors making great strides in its market share of fuel-efficient
vehicles in general, but now it's focusing some attention on corporate fleets. Verizon has invested heavily and other corporations are sure to follow suit when they recognize the quality and value of GM's new models.
Chicago Chevy Silverado buyers will be interested to know that Verizon, the communications giant, has invested in 576 Chevrolet Silverado hybrids for the company. The Chevy Silverado hybrid has a two-mode system which post fuel ratings of 21 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. The city mileage, General Motors states, is almost as high as a four-cylinder engine sedan. Impressive for a pick-up truck! Elmhurst used car shoppers should take note of the 2010 Chevy Silverado.
James Gowen, chief sustainability officer for Verizon, said "A major part of out sustainability strategy is to make smart use of lower-carbon alternatives to power out fleet and the operation of our high-IQ broadband networks." Verizon apparently plans to add 1,600 "alternative-powered" vehicles and General Motors will love to see that order come in!
"When Verizon first approached us about environmentally-friendly and fuel-efficient vehicles for their urban drivers, we knew the Silverado hybrid was the perfect fit because of its outstanding city and highway MPG ratings. Immediately the team went to work to meet Verizon's ambitious July delivery deadline." GM Fleet and Commercial Operations General Manager Brian Small said. And not only was GM excited about this partnership with Verizon, but the company placed their order through a single dealership. Fairway Motors in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, which just happens to be female-owned. Hey, Chevy lovers know their trucks regardless of gender!
Chicago Chevy Silverado dealers would love an order like that and in the area where they are it shouldn't be too hard to find. Maybe GM should have a contest to see which dealer can snag the largest corporate order and then give all the employees at that dealership a free Silverado. (I think I should get one too for coming up with the idea.)
So somebody want to propose this contest to corporate and let's just see what kind of business we can come up with. I mean local contractors, city and village street departments and officers, park departments the list could go on forever. Hey, we don't even have to limit it to truck. Let's see who can sell the biggest fleet of any GM vehicle.
Customers looking for a Silverado or any other quality GM vehicle should visit their Elmhurst used car dealer. The new Silverados are a great deal considering their vast array of amenities, but a good used Chevy truck is always a wise investment as well.
