Chicago Toyota hybrid drivers impressed by look of Toyota Avalon

Lexus has always impressed drivers with interior comfort. As Toyota's luxury label, many times Toyota models have taken cues from Lexus interior design, but the 2011 Toyota Avalon takes it to a new level.

Of course, the Toyota Avalon has long been the largest, most luxurious Toyota you can buy, wrapping drivers in luxury for years now. Now, in the 2011 Avalon model, drivers will see a restyled interior. The addition of textured plastics adds to a luxury dynamic, as does a faux wood trim.

On the outside, the Avalon has undergone a minor redesign that puts it in Lexus territory, actually resembling the LS 460 to a decent degree. As always, the Avalon is a long sedan, more than eight inches longer than the 2011 Camry and with two and a half more inches of rear-seat legroom. The passenger space increase is what makes car buyers opt for the Avalon over the Camry, as cargo space remains the same. The step up to the 2011 Toyota Avalon is all about comfort.

Leather seat trim comes standard on the 2011 Avalon. A power moon roof is another standard feature. Then the traditional Toyota safety package comes as standard as well. Moving up a level to the Limited trim level on the 2011 Toyota Avalon will add memory seats, push-button start, ventilated front seats and several other features. A GPS navigation package and upgraded audio system come as part of a $1,450 optional package.

My take on the 2011 Toyota Avalon is a positive one. While the dash and door could fit more optimally from a aesthetic perspective, the changes made to the 2011 model make the car more appealing than its last version. The Limited trim level is an excellent array of options for a reasonable price. The Avalon continues to improve itself, remaining the luxury car that most people don't talk about as a luxury car.
