When most people think of cargo nets they generally think of the type that helps

you secure a load in the back of your pickup truck or on a flatbed semi. They are great for this but there are a lot of other uses for them that you do not think about being netting of this type. Their uses are seemingly endless in various situations.

Some of the same restrictions apply to the activity style of nets as the cargo securement nets. There are always weight restrictions on all of these. It is important to remember that the heavier the strapping, the more weight they can handle. You also want to consider the way they actually attach. Some attach with carabiners. If there is not a specific connection for the carabiner, it will put extra stress on the strapping causing it to break.

Playground nets provide a secure and fun way for children to exercise and develop balance and coordination. They can hold up to 300 pounds of weight so there is no worry about them breaking under the weight of multiple children at once. These are generally made out of strong nylon with other materials to make them durable.

When camping they are instrumental in creating bridges, securing your gear when transporting it to the camping area and even for hunting trips to access your tree house. These should be inspected before each use to ensure they are sound enough to support your weight. The use of these nets is endless when out in the elements.

Sporting nets are another type of cargo securements. Many different sports use these as goal nets. For instance football uses them to catch the ball during the extra point kick after a field goal. These are a very familiar type of net with several other sports using them as well. Tennis even uses them to separate the courts during matches. Some gyms have them hanging on the walls to simulate mountain climbing without the risk and elements.

Many emergency agencies carry these nets for emergencies. Fire departments use them to help rescue flood victims, scale the walls of burning buildings and even to catch people leaping from burning buildings. They can be used in an emergency to transport someone who is injured or simply unable to continue walking.

When choosing a cargo securement or net, make sure to take into consideration what it will be used for. Since there are multiple uses for them, you will want something that can be used for more than one situation. You should also make sure it will hold enough weight to support you or anyone who may be with you.

Securing a load in the back of a pickup truck is not the only use for cargo nets. They can be entertaining as with the sport type or used in an emergency. They are relatively inexpensive to purchase and can be found almost anywhere. Many automotive parts stores carry them as well as sporting goods stores and many department stores.
