This bonding time is beneficial, especially if some of the bridesmaids do not already know each other. It can be a fun time for women to try on a variety of pretty dresses and "play dress up" like they did as little girls.

After the bridesmaids' dresses have been chosen, they must be properly fitted to make sure they are the right length, do not bunch or gather in an awkward way, etc. It is important to use a trusted seamstress to get the right fit and make sure the bridesmaids look picture perfect when they stand beside the bride on the big day.
