Choosing The Right Cream Or Cosmetic For Rosacea

Rosacea was once assumed to be related to acne but later on

, professionals and researchers found out that it is a different skin condition all together which is characterized by redness and swelling of the skin. The redness varies from person to person. There are people who are just slightly affected and will require less coverage to cover up the irritation but there are also some who have severe cases and sometimes these are the people who result to having some photo facial treatments on their skin.

Rosacea does not really have a cure so the best way that people with Rosacea can do to improve their confidence and self esteem is to cover their redness and at least make their skin natural. This is not possible though without the use of cosmetics and skin care products.

The products that people with Rosacea use vary because the effectiveness of the product will depend on how the skin of the person would react to the cosmetics for rosacea or skin care product. There are some ingredients though that they should avoid such as alcohol, witch hazel, fragrance, menthol, peppermint, eucalyptus oil, clove oil and salicylic acid. These ingredients have been found to further irritate the skin and might also cause excessive swelling.

Do remember that the best way to start is putting an effective moisturizer on the skin to minimize the swelling then it would be better to use a brush in applying foundation and other makeup.

It is also recommended that brushes be used to put foundation instead of sponge because of the same reason that brushes will have less contact with the skin than sponges. Do take note though that the brushes be cleaned every time after use because bacteria build up is possible.

If ever the tips mentioned above still seem vague to you, try using mineral make up first because mineral make up is made with all organic products that are gentler than non-mineral products. Also, it would be better to choose products that have less oil content because this can save you on irritation and swelling. It is the same with choosing eye make up, try choosing a brand that is organic and does not contain the ingredients mentioned above.

There are a lot of products now that are available for people with Rosacea. Finding the perfect product for you may take some time but if you do find the best product that works for your skin, it would make you feel more confident and happy.
