Choosing The Right Toy For The Right Age Group
Due to the many plastic, throwaway toys that are now available in the market
, toys have got a bad reputation, with an idea now that giving children toys is not good. True, certain types of toys are no good, do nothing towards developing the child and generally become boring or are broken very quickly. Yet, these are a certain type of mass produced cheap toys of no quality with just an outer cover to attract a childs momentary interest. It is the parents responsibility to avoid purchasing these types of toys and instead opt for toys of quality and endurance, such as Djeco toys that have earned the respect of parents over the many years it has been in operation.
Djeco toys are built to last, geared to develop the innate skills of the children while keeping them entertained with lots of fun. Understanding the interests and capabilities of the different age groups too has ensured their popularity. For example during the early months for an infant it is all about grabbing, holding and chewing things. Infants are attracted to bright colours and appreciate holding onto something that they are able to grasp with ease. That is why soft toys, soft big cubes, cloth books and soft plastic rings in bright colours are such favourites.
As children grow older, they begin to develop coordination and motor skills. This is why big building blocks, shapes and cut outs are good for children just reaching their first year. They love picking up things and placing it correctly as they learn to control their hand movements. By the second year for your child it is more about speaking and hearing words said to them, so that they mimic the words and learn their proper usage. They are at this stage they are like sponges and absorb their surroundings and become more and more aware of themselves as individuals. At this point they love playing with toys such as cooking sets, tea sets, play acting the world of adults. By about three years of age they start enjoying more creative play with paints and stencils. At this stage they are little performers and love showcasing their creativity for parental approval. Paints, colouring books, stencils and such are ideal for this age group.
