Christmas Craft Ideas To Share With The Kids

One great part about Christmas is spending time with the family and sharing in the season

. Filling out Christmas cards, decorating the house, and singing carols while you sip eggnog or apple cider are all signs of the season. One great thing you can do is to sit down with the kids and make great Christmas themed crafts that everyone will have fun doing and will make the holidays just that much more special. The great thing about it is most of the crafts don't cost hardly anything to make and they're easy enough so even the smallest kids can either do it themselves or at least help.

Paper snowflakes are always a popular and great looking Christmas craft idea that is easy to make. All it takes to make them is some paper and a pair of school scissors. First, cut sheets of paper into squares or circles then fold them in half two or three times as this will change the appearance. Then, take the school scissors and cut little triangles and other shapes along the edges. You can even cut off the tip or corners to make different snowflakes. Once you have cut out all you want, unfold it and you have a snowflake! When you've made several, you can paste them on construction paper to make collages or hang them up with string. Change it up by using Christmas wrapping paper for colorful snowflakes too.

Taking last year's Christmas cards and cutting off the back is the start to another fun crafty Christmas idea. Then you can either glue them to pasteboard and make greeting card collages or you can use a hole punch and punch 2 holes on the back of them and use pieces of yarn or ribbon to make Christmas card flip books.

Using red and pink construction paper to make paper Santa's is a great Christmas craft idea since all you have to do is cut out basic shapes and use crayons to make the twinkling eyes and rosy cheeks and by using glue and cotton balls to create eyebrows, his beard and the decorations on his hat. Everyone will love how great they look when they're done.

Making garland for your Christmas tree out of construction paper is another fun craft idea. Just cut strips of paper out and make a ring. Then take another strip and loop through the first and glue the ends and so on and so on. It is super easy and a great way to have new decorations every year.

With a little out of the box thinking, crafty Christmas ideas aren't hard to come up with and they are so fun to do. Kids and parents alike will enjoy being part of the creative process and the end results always look great. Take the time to sit down and create some fun this Christmas season. It's a win-win for everybody.
