Chrome Wall Mounted Garment Rail in the UK She's A Beauty!

My daughter is twenty five years and decided to move out from her parents' home

. We couldn't wait for her to go. Not in a nasty way. We do love her. It just isn't right for sons and daughters who are adults to stick around too long. There is so much to do and see in their own right as an adult.

She's been gone two months and I have to say that we parents are now happily enjoying our own freedom and privacy that comes from not having the children at home any longer. Apart from the odd holiday she's had with friends and school trips, we had just got so used to having our daughter living with us!

It isn't entirely true to say that we've made a clean break from our daughter. I think she'd been moved out into her flat precisely two days when the phone rang and she asked if I could I pop into her place with my toolbox? Now, I'm old enough and experienced enough to know that there's no such thing as popping in with a toolbox. For popping in, read "this is going to take you the best part of a day!"

Anyway, I duly called round with my toolbox. She showed me an unopened brown box that lay on the floor of her bedroom. She said this was a chrome wall mounted garment rail. Having witnessed for years how my daughter treated her clothes - not very well - I thought what a sensible purchase. Up until now, and in her bedroom in our house, she seemed to believe the stacking system had been invented for clothes. She had piles of them. It was almost gratifying to see that since she no longer had her mother to tidy her bedroom up, she had better do something about her bedroom in her new flat.

Well, I installed the garment rail. In fairness it wasn't too difficult. My daughter was thrilled by the rail and before the electric drill had a chance to cool down she started hanging her clothes on her brand new clothes rail. I guess I can proudly say that this was an instant DIY success.

So, if you have a daughter or son that remains living with you at home but you think they should be moving on to their own house or flat, here's a tip for you. Never install a wall mounted garment rail in their bedroom in your house because they'll stay with you forever!
