Clearing Common Myths About Muscle Growth
The process of muscle growth has a lot of misunderstandings due to many myths which get associated with lack of knowledge or half baked understanding
.
Athletic Body and Muscular Body
Another common myth in terms of physique is that athletic body and muscular body are same. Many sports magazines are responsible for such this. Athletic body is slightly different from the heavy muscular body in terms of muscle growth. A muscular type of body has more amounts of muscle growth as compared to the athletic type of body.
Supplements are Illegal and have Side Effects
There are many theories as to why the common man considers all types of supplements as either illegal or having lethal side effects in the longer run of life. Actually, if you want to gain muscle, adding supplements to your diet is recommended. Supplements are taken by millions of body builders all over the world. Also, you need to understand that steroids and protein based supplements are 2 different things.
Avoiding Red Meat
One thing which many body building enthusiasts fail to understand that through the process of muscle building, weight gain would automatically take place. Hence, leaner animal sources like beef, chicken and fish should be eaten regularly. Red meat also includes B vitamins (B12 included) which help us to achieve muscle volume and growth.
Myths about Water Intake
Good that you know the importance of drinking water during workouts and during the day, but not many people are aware of the fact that you should not gulp down huge amounts of water at one go. Instead drink small cups of water throughout the day which should eventually be around 1 gallon to 1.5 gallons of water each day. For those who are not aware about the conversion, 1 gallon equals to 3.79 liters of water.
Low Intensity Workouts
The myth that you need to perform low intensity and high intensity phases alternatively actually cancels out the muscle gaining theory. You need to subject your body muscles to new levels of stress so that they get bigger in trying to adapt to that level of stress.
When it comes to myths about the process involved to gain muscle, half knowledge not only ruins your workouts but can be dangerous as well.
