We live in a world of fashion experts, in spite of the economy fashion often gets into the hearts and minds of those who seek approval, or self confirmation. It is an interesting time as the market for designer clothing has taken on a new standard after a succession of failed celebrity ventures into the fashion world. Checked and striped shirts, rugger and polo shirts With so many of our top celebrities providing our immediate fashion choices., we need to challenge the fashion norms and ideals that exist around us. Fashions revolving styles have always offered colours and combinations but often lacking in suave style. Mens casual shirts have been a staple fashion choice for over sixty years. Checked and striped shirts, rugger and polo shirts they will be around for many years to come. In todays ever-changing fashion world, the value of having the flexibility of wearing clothing according to choice rather than situation, is valued. Often these styles are mistaken for pretentiousness but knitwear items have re-appeared and so have mens tartan trousers and blazers. Preppy styles are responsible for much of the influences that exist in our clothing. Women are wearing red military jackets with crew dresses and men opt for a casual blazers with with denim and a crew neck sweater. We accept that colours and collar sizes changed in the seventies, now, when a men wears denim, it is often accompanied with a smart casual blazer, with fitted shirts , lambswool sweaters and brogues. Fashions are not defined by an era, rather through the choices of the individuals. It has been evident from recent publicity shots, that celebrity culture uses fashion to re-ignite careers. Largely perceived as superficial, image conscious people are becoming valued members of society. Preppy Fashions, Red Jackets and Tartan Blazers This is why we should have preppy fashions in our wardrobe. It reflects an image of casual comfort, and the individual has a subtle style and they incorporate the colours and combinations of a sophisticated lifestyle choice. There is a saying that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and noticeably preppy is a look that is catching on amongst the younger generation. Accordingly, younger people are more familiar with rugger and polo shirts and checked and tartan blazers. Whether it is a lifestyle choice or a just to make a statement and give the right first impression. People are continually wearing styles that reflect the times we live in. We have all been conservative in our fashion choices this century, however, it is expected that individual choices will lift the lid on this and bring preppy fashions into our daily lives.About the Author:
