, our immune systems are prone to take a bit of a bashing. After all, we have been used to the long days and the balmy temperatures, right? Well, if you are a UK resident then that's probably not quite true, but it's time to dose up on the cold and flu tablets and begin the lengthy process of tackling the winter germs.

But be careful when driving to and from work, new research published this week has stated that thirty five percent of UK motorists have had a crash after taking medicine to combat the cold and flu symptoms they were experiencing. Nearly a fifth of the people surveyed admitted that they felt too ill to drive, with a whopping sixty three percent admitted to driving their cars while feeling tired or exhausted.

The research also denoted that twenty seven percent of drivers do not bother to read the instructions on their medication before driving, which is worrying as a large percentage of the drugs we take for sickness stipulate that you cannot drive on them. Less than one in five motorists see it necessary to check whether they are safe to drive on the roads after taking their medication, which is a massive worry to other road users and Car Insurance providers.

If you are starting to feel unwell then make sure you check the driving stipulations on any medication you may take, and if you don't feel well enough to drive then seek alternative transportation.
