It could almost be said that the band gets lost in all of the visual effects that are deployed around the concert arena. A total of five screens dwarf the stage, broadcasting all kinds of imagery. During Princess of China, a pre-recorded Rihanna plays on the screens, singing her part while the band accompanies her live. The entire performance relies heavily on the laser light show that laces through each song, providing punctuation to the music.

The audience gets their chance to participate with a neat gimmick in the form of flashing wristbands. LED lights inside the wristband are controlled by radio signals. During certain songs, the LEDs light up and the crowd is encouraged to wave their hands in the air to create a moving sea of light in time with the song.

Another bit of audience acknowledgement comes in the form of a confetti cannon that shoots off over the audience during the chorus of the song "In My Place." The fun goes on when "Yellow" is performed; multi-colored, glitter filled balloons are released onto the audience. At some shows, the band goes into the audience to sing and perform the song "Us Against the World," arguably the ultimate homage to the fans of Coldplay.

There is no denying the cohesion and expertise the band has gained from the years of performing together. No matter what the critics may say about what they perceive as Coldplay's weaker works, the band delivers every single time they are on stage. They are true performers, writing music that evokes strong emotions from the listener. Everyone does their part on stage, and does it well.

The lead singer, Chris Martin, has a plaintive voice that draws in the listener to the imagery that he is drawing with his singing, a rare gift indeed. Supporting Martin is guitarist Jonny Buckland, who sets and creates the sound of Coldplay, driving the music the same way as other famous guitarists do. Bass player Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion provide the rhythm to the melody provided by Buckland and Martin, making the musical circle complete. All have honed their craft to perfection, electrifying their fans with the live performances.

Coldplay's tour supports more than their latest album. Songs from previous releases are also delved into, fulfilling fan's expectations to hear their favorite songs. It is apparent that Coldplay appreciates their audience, especially when taking into regard the lengths the group goes to when creating the current tour.
