Collagen Diet - Discover How Eating Healthy Can Help Boost Collagen Production in Your Body
By the time you finish reading this article you'll have a thorough understanding
of why is it that a collagen diet can help you get and keep younger looking skin.
Before we start however, I want to make it clear that by collagen diet I'm referring to a diet that helps prevent the destruction of the protein; And not necessarily a diet that contains collagen.
The reason for this is because the protein in its pure form cannot be sourced from food. It has to be naturally produced by the body.
Therefore Collage-supplements will not necessarily help boost the levels of the protein in your body. Not the pure type anyway because these supplements contain only the synthetic version that is usually derived from animals.
With that said, the collagen diet I will be sharing with you below consists of food rich in antioxidants. Why antioxidants? Because they prevent the destruction of the collagen protein by free radicals.
Ok, if this does not make sense, let me explain how it all works.
The ultra-pure collagen that is produced by our body is damaged by the suns UV rays. That is why constant exposure to the sun will make your skin look much older than it really is.
This happens because the UV rays from the sun trigger the skin-damaging activates of unstable oxygen molecules called free radicals. The oxidative stress these free radicals cause in our body cells damages the collagen that keeps the body tissue "glued" together strongly; Thus leaving our skin weak, thin and saggy.
The reason antioxidants will protect collagen is because they have the ability to destroy the free radicals.
Antioxidants fight off free radicals therefore preventing any further damage to the collagen-protein, which gives the skin a younger look and feel.
With that said, here are some of the best antioxidant foods that you can include in your diet to protect your skin from the free radical damage usually caused by the sun.
Fruits
Berries: Strawberries, blueberries and raspberries
Oranges
Red apples
Plum
Pineapple
Grapefruit
Red grapes
Vegetables
Kale
Spinach
collards
Broccoli
Red cabbage
Tomatoes
Avocado
Others foods
Salmon
Tuna
Believe me. Once you start to include the above food in
your collagen diet, you'll begin to see a noticeable difference in the tone, feel and smoothness of your skin.
Overall you should expect younger looking and feeling skin.
