Color Your Brochure According To Your Printer Requirement
Having print brochures in your marketing arsenal is crucial to being successful in your business
. Hence, creating a brochure is part and parcel of designing an identity for your business. A well designed brochure printing that is professionally printed is worth a great deal more than the price you have to pay for it. But by knowing the standards that your brochure printing company is looking for, you can save considerable time and effort, not to mention a whole lot of your marketing budget.
Proper Color Settings
One of the crucial elements that any printer would be looking for when you send them your brochure layout is the color settings. Does your brochure colors ready for professional printing? Like it or not, your printer would only be able to print according to the print template you gave them. Unless you have high quality images in your print brochures that would look good in their equipment, your brochure would always look less than what you expect of them.
Your computer monitor has a different color display than that of your printing press unit. Computer monitors usually have RGB (red, green and blue) format. The colors would appear exceptionally brilliant and clear, but it would only do so in your monitor. Printing presses basically has CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) format so that your RGB colors may not print very well on them.
Here is the thing, RGB colors look brilliant in your computer monitor because they are being illuminated electronically. On the other hand, the CMYK that the printing presses use are without the artificial illumination used by the monitors. Thus, your color would look wan and less clear if you use RGB format to print in the presses. If you want clear and precise color shades, you have to create your design in CMYK, as well as your pdf layout which you will send to your brochure printing company. If you dont know how to switch your RGB to CMYK mode, instructions are included in the software you use to design your brochure so you can easily convert your layout to pdf format.
By working according to what your printing company prefers when they receive your print layout, you would ensure that your brochure gets the best resolution for your images and photos. What you see in your screen is likely to end up on the final print if you do your colors according to the requirements of your professional printer.
