Recuperation, start-stop systems, dual-clutch transmission and onboard computer all add to the efficiency of the luxury compact sportback.

An intelligent voltage control system in the alternator allows the recuperation system to regain energy during the braking and coasting phases. This energy is stored in the battery and supplied to the vehicle electric system during the next acceleration process.

A start-stop system switches the engine off when the vehicle is at a standstill. When the clutch is pressed, the engine restarts quietly, conveniently and quickly and also works perfectly with the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The transmission itself combines the convenience of automatic gearshift with the dynamic nature and efficiency of a manual transmission. The 7-speed gearbox only weighs about 70 kg, contributing to weight reduction and is able to change gears within a few hundredths of a second without a perceptible interruption in power flow.

The onboard computer with efficiency program is coupled with the driver information system and displays the consumption-related data. Recommendations for efficient driving and an enlarged gearshift display show the driver when to change gears. Further data such as active consumers and fuel consumption is also at the drivers fingertips.

Luxury Style

Casual sportiness paints an impressive picture of the luxury compact design. The roof dome is available in three contrasting colours on request and characterises the compact sportback, while the striking rear spoiler further underlines its individual appearance.
